Logan Mooney LLP provides litigation services to individuals and small to medium-sized companies. Our typical client engages us to resolve a specific dispute—a broken contract, an act of unfair competition, an intellectual property matter—and the representation often then grows to encompass the client’s broader legal needs, such as drafting a more effective contract or taking proactive measures to protect intellectual property and other business assets. We pride ourselves on quickly mastering the factual and legal issues presented by each matter and implementing creative and winning strategies. We recognize that our clients want and are entitled to cost-effective legal representation and resolution.

We have managed and resolved a broad range of disputes in state and federal courts, as well as through mediation and arbitration proceedings. While every case is unique and the client’s needs may evolve as it is litigated, we file cases intending to take them through trial.
Distinctive trademarks, service marks, and trade dress are critical to building a company's brand and promoting consumer goodwill. We understand the value of these intellectual property assets, and we know how to protect them from infringement.
EMPLOYMENT AND UNFAIR COMPETITION
We are experienced in handling employment and competitor issues. We have helped clients enforce employment agreements, litigate acts of unfair competition, pursue and defend claims of trade secret misappropriation, and investigate and remedy employee embezzlement and inventory theft.
Bill Logan and Laura Mooney have practiced law together for almost two decades—ever since Laura was a hard-working law student and earned a summer clerkship at the firm where Bill was a partner at the time, Lasky Haas & Cohler, P.C. Prior to that, Bill’s law career started at what was then Pillsbury, Madison & Sutro, now Pillsbury Winthrop LLP, as a litigation associate. He was then recruited in 1988 by Jack Crowley, a highly accomplished trial lawyer who had just left Bronson, Bronson & McKinnon to start a boutique trial firm, to join him as his first litigation associate. In late 1989, Bill was recruited by Lasky, Haas & Cohler, P.C., to be part of the team to prepare for and try the Aerojet environmental coverage cases in a San Mateo County mega-trial. In late 1991, Bill became a member of Lasky, Haas & Cohler, where he developed a successful commercial litigation practice. In 1999, Laura joined the Lasky firm as a litigation associate after graduating from law school, working closely with Bill and the other accomplished partners at the firm. Early in her career, Laura was given substantial responsibility for cases involving commercial contract disputes and corporate and partnership control litigation, including breach of fiduciary duty, redemption rights and dissolution. In 2002, Bill and Laura left Lasky, Haas & Cohler and they formed what has become Logan Mooney LLP. In the many years they have practiced law together, Bill and Laura have developed a unique and formidable synergy and balanced cohesive team approach that has resulted in the successful resolution of their client’s legal matters.
